Plaque Psoriasis

At Advanced Wellness Infusion Centers, we offer personalized, evidence-based infusion treatments to support patients living with Osteoporosis. Our experienced team is here to provide care that is safe, compassionate and focused on improving quality of life every step of the way.

What is Plaque Psoriasis?

Osteoporosis is a condition that weakens the bones, making them fragile and more likely to break. It happens when the body loses too much bone, doesn’t make enough, or both—leading to bones that become porous and brittle over time. Often called a “silent disease,” osteoporosis may not cause symptoms until a fracture occurs, usually in the hip, spine, or wrist. It’s most common in older adults, especially women after menopause. With early diagnosis, lifestyle changes, medications, and in some cases infusion therapy, osteoporosis can be effectively managed to help protect bone strength and reduce fracture risk.

How is Plaque Psoriasis Managed Through Infusion Therapy?

Evenity® and Prolia® are advanced biologic treatments used to strengthen bones and reduce fracture risk in people with osteoporosis. These medications are given by injection and work in different—but complementary—ways to improve bone health over time. Evenity® (romosozumab) is a once-monthly injection for 12 months that works by both building new bone and slowing bone loss at the same time, making it especially helpful for patients at high risk of fracture. Prolia® (denosumab) is given every six months and works by blocking the cells that break down bone—helping to preserve bone density and reduce the chance of future fractures.

What to Expect at my Osteoporosis Infusion

Plaque Psoriasis infusions at Advanced Wellness use a very thin catheter to connect an IV line to one of the patient's veins to infuse the medication. All of our locations have a Nurse Practitioner on site and the patient is monitored continuously throughout treatment for any adverse reactions. Patients can expect the infusion to last anywhere from an hour to two hours. After the IV treatment is complete, the patient is disconnected from the IV by a nurse. During initial treatments, the patient is asked to stay on site for a short time post-treatment for observation.

In each infusion suite, Advanced Wellness provides snacks and beverages as well as streaming devices for comfort throughout the infusion appointment.

Preparing for Your Infusion
